Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the CrimeRisk API and website (the "Service"). By creating an API key or using the Service you agree to them.
The Service
CrimeRisk returns crime risk scores for UK postcodes derived from open data. Use of the scores is subject to our Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
API keys and acceptable use
- Keep your API key secret; you are responsible for activity under it.
- Do not exceed your plan's request limit, attempt to bypass rate limits, or resell raw access without written agreement.
- Do not use the Service unlawfully, including to discriminate against individuals or in breach of the Equality Act 2010.
Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. Request limits reset each billing period. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms or suspend keys that breach them. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
